Spotlight on the Class of '22, Robert Powers
Robert Powers, Liberal Arts A.A., credits his children as his source of inspiration in the decision to purse a college degree. "To pave a better road for my children's future," Powers explained. "They will only learn from watching me, not from me telling them."
As a non-traditional student, Powers said Herkimer College opened his eyes to the endless possibilities in higher education. "It's hands down the best community college, whether you are going to a four-year or obtaining an associates degree. This college cares about your future and having the Academic Support Center to help solve your academic problems is a sign of a great college that cares,” he said.
In one or two words, what does Herkimer College mean for Powers?
"Caring family," he exclaimed. "I feel like I am family here at Herkimer! I couldn't have done half of what I did with my education without the caring, compassionate, and empathetic professors and staff at this amazing college.
Looking towards his bright future, Powers' plan is to become a psychologist.
Congratulations, Robert, and all our ’22 graduates!
