COVID-19 Exposure & Positive Test Protocols, Fall '22 Semester

Please be aware of COVID-19 exposure and positive test protocols in place for the Fall 2022 semester*.

In case of a COVID-19 exposure (within six feet of the positive case for more than 15 minutes over 24 hours):

  • Individuals should start wearing a well-fitting mask immediately, continue wearing it for 10 days from the first day of the last exposure when around others, and watch for symptoms.
  • The individual should test on day six (6) or immediately if COVID-19 symptoms develop within 10 days of the exposure.
  • If the individual tests positive, they must isolate immediately.
    • Stay home for at least five (5) days. (Students - isolate from others in the house/apartment.)
    • If no symptoms are present, isolation may end after day five (5).
    • If symptoms are present, isolation may end after day five (5) if individual is fever-free (w/out medication for 24 hours) and symptoms are improving.
    • After isolation has ended, the individual should wear a well-fitting mask through day 10, unless they test negative twice, 48 hours apart.
  • If the test is negative: continue precautions through day 10.

In case of exposure where the individual was not within six (6) feet of the positive case for more than 15 minutes over 24 hours, that individual should self-monitor for symptoms.

In case of a positive COVID-19 test:

  • Isolate immediately. Students, contact the Dean of Students, 866.0300 x8276. Employees, contact Campus Safety, 866.0300 x8336.
  • If you have symptoms – Isolation may end after day five (5) if fever-free (w/out medication for 24 hours) and symptoms are improving.
  • If no symptoms are present – isolation may end after day 5.
  • After isolation has ended, wear a well-fitting mask through day 10, unless testing negative twice, 48 hours apart.
