Herkimer College to hold 56th Annual Commencement

Herkimer County Community College will hold its 56th Commencement on Friday, May 10, 2024, at 4 p.m. in the Physical Education building. There are 307 graduates and candidates for degrees and certificates.

Officer-in-Charge Nicholas F. Laino will preside over the ceremony.

The National Anthem will be sung by Joshua Lanza β€˜12, academic support specialist and esports coach at Herkimer College. The invocation and benediction will be delivered by Chaunsey Brown, Lead Paster, New Hope Christian Fellowship, Dolgeville, NY.

The procession will be led by faculty representative and macebearer, Associate Professor of Social Science John McLean, Ph.D.

Chairman of the Board of Trustees Michael Stalteri Sr., Herkimer County Legislative Chair Robert Hollum; New York State Assemblyman Robert J. Smullen, Herkimer College Academic Senate President Jennifer Adjodha-Evans, Ph.D., and Student Government Association President Elizabeth Cingranelli of Stittville, NY will deliver greetings.

Grace Marjorie Smith β€˜24, of Eaton, NY will deliver the student address titled β€œTo the Class of 2024.” Degrees will be conferred by Laino with assistance from Provost Michael Oriolo and Dean of Students/Director of Athletics Donald Dutcher.

Admission to the ceremony is by ticket only; and a live webcast of the ceremony will be available at www.herkimer.edu/commencement. A reception for the graduates and their guests will be held immediately following the ceremony.
