Dr. H. David Trautlein

For his commitment to establishing the benchmark for academic excellence at Herkimer College. 

As the founding Dean of the College, Dr. Trautlein created the academic programs and standards that provided a successful beginning for Herkimer College. Dr. Trautlein demanded and received excellence in teaching from the faculty. He was extremely instrumental in library development, faculty and student evaluations, and documentation of the College’s history. Dr. Trautlein’s contributions to the College are a major reason for the early and continual success of the College.
