Jean E. Stapleton

For her commitment to academic excellence at Herkimer College.  

A founding faculty member of the College, Miss Stapleton insisted on high standards for herself and her students. Originally hired to teach foreign languages, Miss Stapleton recognized a need to develop a new academic program-Travel and Tourism. Her pioneering efforts provided for substantial enrollment growth, as well as a state recognition of the College’s Travel and Tourism program. Miss Stapleton’s interest in the College has continued since her retirement, with her involvement with the Herkimer College Foundation.
