A Message from the President: Terri Grates Day, PhD
Holiday Greetings from Herkimer County Community College
As we wrap up the fall semester at Herkimer County Community College, I want to extend warm holiday wishes to the citizens of Herkimer County and the greater Mohawk Valley. This time of year gives us a chance to pause, look back on the past few months, and appreciate the people who help make our work meaningful.
Throughout the semester, our focus on being meaningful by design is guiding how we build relationships, how we welcome visitors to campus, and how we strengthen our role in the county. I have seen this show up in countless small moments. It is in the conversations that happen in our hallways, the events that bring people to campus, and the steady support we feel from so many of you. Whether you participated in a program, partnered with us, or encouraged our efforts, you helped shape a positive and memorable semester.
The coming year holds special significance for HCCC. 2026 marks the 60th anniversary of Herkimer County Community College. To honor this milestone, we are launching a yearlong initiative where college employees and students will participate in 60 acts of service across Herkimer County. This is our way of giving back to the region that has supported us for six decades. In the weeks ahead, please be on the lookout for a form where you can suggest an act of service for us to consider as part of this celebration.
To add a little holiday cheer, I invite you to enjoy a short, fun video of me baking cookies alongside our General Herkimer mascot. It’s a lighthearted way to celebrate the season and share some Herkimer spirit.
As the holiday season arrives, I hope you find time for rest, good company, and moments that remind you of what matters most. Thank you for supporting Herkimer County Community College. I look forward to our partnerships in 2026, and I wish everyone a merry holiday season and a hopeful start to the new year.
Herkimer Proud,
Terri Grates Day, PhD
