Reminder for Students Regarding COVID Testing, Vaccination Clinics
This is a reminder for all students that plan to be on campus for any reason during the fall semester that they are required to take part in “rapid” COVID testing prior to the start of classes. Rapid COVID testing will be offered on campus on the following days:
- Wednesday, Sept. 1 and Friday, Sept. 3
Cogar Gallery in the College Center Building (RMCC 278)
10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. - Saturday, Sept. 4 and Sunday, Sept. 5
Main Parking Lot in front of the College Center Building
8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Students may also have a rapid COVID test at Primary Urgent Care locations in Herkimer (130 West Albany Street; 315-634-6647; 7:30 am – 7:30 pm) or South Utica (1904 Genesee St.; 315-804-6800; 7:30 am – 7:30 pm). Results of your rapid COVID test must be sent to the Dean of Students (deanofstudents@herkimer.edu; FAX 315-866-1808).
Also, this is a reminder of the 35-day grace period for the COVID vaccination requirement that began with the FDA approval of the Pfizer COVID vaccine on August 23. The grace period will run through Monday, September 27, by which time students must either complete a vaccine series or provide evidence of having already completed a vaccine series. This vaccination requirement does not apply to students who are only enrolled in online classes and will not be coming to campus for any reason, or to students who have been approved for an exemption.
