We have many tips, tricks, and tools to aid and support your academic journey. Hear our recommendations on how to prepare for the first day of class, learn why a syllabus is so important, and meet the people ready to help YOU be successful at Herkimer College.

New COMMUTER and RESIDENTIAL students:

New commuter and residential students must participate in a virtual information session on Wednesday, January 15th at 7:00 p.m. This brief virtual meeting will cover all you need to know before you arrive on campus, and also what's expected of you at New Student Orientation. A link to the session will be sent to your Herkimer email.

New Student Orientation will take place in person on Wednesday, January 22nd from 12:30 - 3 pm. New Student Orientation is required for all new students commuting or residing on campus.

New ONLINE students:

Students who will be taking ALL of their coursework online must choose ONE of the following sessions to participate in.

  • Session A:  Tuesday, January 21st, 4:30 pm
  • Session B: Tuesday, January 21st , 7:00 pm

Please check your Herkimer College email for details.

Through this Orientation course, I learned how special Herkimer College really is! The orientation course is both informative and applicable regardless of whether you live on campus or not, or whether you are a traditional or non-traditional student. Herkimer has so many support systems in place to assist in making the student’s experience a positive one. Everyone’s “door is open” to help students be successful, from professors and advisors to 24/7 hotlines when someone is in crisis.
