Readmitted Student Checklist
1. Access your MyHerkimer account
Login to my.herkimer.edu to view your student accounts. This is where you’ll access important information including your Herkimer email, Student Online Services (class schedule, financial aid, billing information, and more), DegreeWorks (degree progress), and Starfish (any alerts from your instructors).
Log in using your college email address. Your college email is the first 7 letters of your last name + first letter of your first name + last 3 digits of your Herkimer ID number (if you don’t know this your advisor can tell you) @herkimer.edu.
For example: Mary Robinson, H01234567, would use the email robinsom567@herkimer.edu
And John Smith, H09876543, would use the email smithj543@herkimer.edu

2. Apply for Financial Aid (if applicable)
Complete the FAFSA and TAP application if you haven’t already. If you have any questions about filling out the forms, please contact the Financial Aid Office at finaid@herkimer.edu or 315.574.4035. More information about applying for financial aid can be found here.
If you were placed on Academic Dismissal your last semester at Herkimer, you will need to fill out a Financial Aid Appeal Form to appeal for reinstatement of your federal financial aid (if you plan to use financial aid). If your appeal is denied, you can still enroll in classes but will need an alternative form of payment.
3. Pay your bill (if applicable)
Pay any outstanding balances through the Student Accounts Office. For any billing questions, please contact the Student Accounts office at bursar@herkimer.edu or 315.574.4018.
4. Submit your Certificate of Residency (for NY State residents):
Submit your Certificate of Residency no sooner than 60 days prior to the start of classes. More information can be found here.
5. Submit high school transcripts or GED (if applicable)
You may be required to resubmit your high school transcript or GED depending on when you last attended. To find out if they are required, speak with your academic advisor.
6. Textbooks/Course Materials
Herkimer College participates in the BookMarket, a program that provides students with all required textbooks and instructional materials at a cost of $24 per credit hour. Students are automatically enrolled in the program but may choose to opt out if they wish. The link to opt out can be found in the Bookmarket FAQs.
