Start Your College Journey Without a Diploma or GED
At HCCC, we understand that students come from all different backgrounds and journeys, but if you are interested in furthering your education, we are here to help!
If you have not earned a high school diploma or GED, you may enroll through the NYS High School Equivalency Diploma pathway.
In this program, you will take the Ability to Benefit* test and then complete 24 credits that count towards your chosen college major to earn your High School Equivalency Diploma.
Eligible candidates must:
- Currently reside in New York State (for at least 30 days)
- Not be a high school graduate
- Have reached maximum compulsory school age
- Students will receive ongoing support from a dedicated academic advisor along the way to ensure success in earning both a high school equivalency diploma and a college degree!

*Note: The Ability to Benefit test is required for students who wish to apply for financial aid. Should you not be interested in doing so, you may simply enroll through the HSE Diploma pathway and self-pay as an alternative option.
