Men’s soccer falls short in opener against Bergen
HERKIMER, NY – Opening their 2015 season with a game against Bergen Community College, the #3 Herkimer Generals men’s soccer team lost to the Bulldogs 2-0 at Wehrum Stadium on Saturday (8/29).
Herkimer (0-1) allowed Bergen to score goals in the 18th and 36th, both by Malik Stewart, going into intermission down 2-0.
Despite having more shots on goal (10-to-4) and corner kicks (4-to-2) the team was unable to get on the board in 90 minutes of play.
In goal for the Generals was sophomore Morrice Baker (Bridgeport, CT). Baker didn’t save a shot in the game.
Up next for the Generals is Prince George. Herkimer will host the Owls in the second day of the Coliseum Classic on Sunday (8/30) at Wehrum Stadium. Game time is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
