Generals swim well in opener

Kristina Reynolds is a sophomore for the Generals.

BATAVIA, NY – In the Generals first swim meet of the season, the men placed fourth overall (98 points) and the women placed third overall (146 points).

Herkimer participated in 11 of 22 events on Saturday against SUNY Delhi, Jamestown Community College and Genesee Community College. The men swam in five events, while the women swam in six events. The men's lone first-place finish was in the backstroke relay, which had David Stanley (Bronx, NY) and Brandon Paul (Gloversville, NY) post a time of 2:29.49. The women had two second-place finishes in the 200 yard medley and 300 yard freestyle relay. In the 200, Herkimer was led by Kristina Reynolds(Sherburne-Earlville, NY), Tianderah Twichell (West Winfield, NY) Erin Hutchison (Macedon, NY) and Kaitlin Winnie (Accord, NY). Together they posted a time of 2:23.91. In the 300, 3:30.00 was posted by Twichell, Cathryn McCormick (Staten Island, NY), Reynolds and Winnie.

The Generals next meet is on Saturday, November 9th. Herkimer will travel to Cazenovia with a 1 p.m. start.
