Men's and Women' Track and Field have strong showing at Cortland Invite

Cortland, NY - The Herkimer Men's and Women's Track and Field teams took part in the SUNY Cortland Invite and Multi-Events meet on Saturday and Sunday April 21 and 22. Coach Sharon Howell was impressed by the improvement of many athletes during the meet.

This effort was highlighted by the women's threesome of Malerie Belles (Clay, NY), Miyah Stroman (Syracuse, NY), and Alexis Perkett (Remsen, NY) who finished first, second, and third respectively in the Region III standings for the Heptathlon. Belles increased her high jump height to 1.52 in the process.

On the men's side, Senior Kyle Holmes (Spencer, NY) placed 6th in Region III in the 10K. Mamadou Diallo (Bronx, NY) decreased his time in the 400M to 52.91 seconds and Kenny Joseph (Dover Plain, NY) finished 11th in the high jump. 

The Generals travel to Rochester, NY on Saturday April 28th to take part in the St. John Fisher Invitational. This will be the last meet before the Generals host the Region III Championships on May 4-5 at Little Falls High School.
