Herkimer College’s Anadio Accepts Summer Professional Coaching Position
This summer, Herkimer College’s head softball coach P.J. Anadio will serve as a head coach in the American Softball Association (ASBA), an all-new women’s professional softball league.
The ASBA is a women’s professional softball league debuting in Mobile, AL on June 15. The draft is scheduled for Wednesday, June 6 at 5 p.m. (Eastern Daylight Time) and will be aired live on ASBA Network.
Anadio will continue to serve as both the head softball coach and technical assistant at Herkimer College.
“What a great opportunity for PJ to be selected as the head coach for the Futures1 team. It is a true testament to the hard work, dedication and knowledge he has shown throughout the years. It is a win-win for both PJ and Herkimer College, as he will continue to grow as a coach with the Futures, and in return, bring that back to the student athletes in his softball program here at Herkimer,” said Herkimer’s Athletic Director Donald Dutcher.
Anadio said “I am extremely honored and humbled to have this opportunity to do what I love at the professional level. I am looking forward to working with and learning from some of the best athletes in the world while continuing to grow the great game of softball. To think of the impact that we can potentially have on young girls who play the game who now see that there may be opportunities beyond college is exhilarating. And to think I get to do it on a national level while representing Herkimer College, the Mohawk Valley and all associated with Herkimer Softball is exciting. I am grateful to the ASBA and Herkimer College, along with my family, for being so supportive and affording me an opportunity to pursue this dream.”
Anadio will coach the Futures1 team and draw the fourth and fifth overall pick in the ASBA draft. For more information about the ASBA league, visit www.asbasoftball.com.
