Generals close out trip to Western New York with another win
Niagara – The Generals closed out their weekend to Western New York with a 6-0 win over Niagara CC. Herkimer got on the scoreboard early on a goal from freshman Mupenzi Irakiza (Syracuse, NY) in the first 33 seconds of the game off an assist from freshman Shemar Blair (Brampton, Ontario, Canada). Blair scored the second goal of the game in the 27th minute off an assist from Irakiza. Freshman Sena Shintate (Kyoto, Japan) scored one minute later off an assist from freshman Riley Urie (West Glover, Vermont). Freshman Ryheim Hinds (Bridgeport, Connecticut) scored in the 30th minute off an assist from Irakiza. Shintate scored his second goal of the game in the 35th minute from an assist from freshman Ryotaro Hayashi (Osaka, Japan). Urie finished off the scoring for Herkimer in the 48th minute off an assist from sophomore Kimani Clarke (East Hampton, NY).
Freshman goalkeeper Tinius Klausen (Oslo, Norway) recorded three saves in 70 minutes of play for the clean sheet. Freshman Julio Gomes (Bedview, South Africa) played the last 20 minutes making two saves.
The Generals return home to take on Hudson Valley CC on Wednesday, September 26th. Kick-off is at 4:30pm at Wehrum Stadium.
