Herkimer College Appoints Academic Support Center Specialist

Joshua M. Louis, of Newport, NY, has been appointed to the position of Academic Support Center Specialist (English/Writing) at Herkimer County Community College.

In this position, Louis will be responsible for providing students with writing assistance infused with best-practice study strategies.

Louis previously has served in a variety of positions at Herkimer College including peer tutor mentor, advisement specialist and adjunct instructor. He holds a master’s degree in English and Creative Writing from Southern New Hampshire University, a bachelor’s degree in Creative Writing from SUNY Oswego, and an associate degree in Liberal Arts: General Studies from Herkimer County Community College.

The Academic Support Center (ASC) at Herkimer College offers a variety of services to help maximize students’ academic potential. Students have access to computers, tutoring services, disability services, academic coaching, as well as placement testing.
