Blair records Hat Trick in win over Corning

Herkimer, NY – Sophomore Shemar Blair (Brampton, Ontario, Canada) led the way for Herkimer scoring three goals in their 10-0 win over visiting Corning CC.  Blair opened up the scoring in the 3rd minute off an assist from sophomore Jaahdel Cyril (Bridgeport, Connecticut).  Cyril played the ball over the top of the Red Barons two center backs to Blair who scored on a breakaway.  Cyril scored in the 11th minute off a corner kick serve from freshman Minato Nakayama (Hyogo, Japan).  Nakayama served the ball into the six yard box to Cyril who headed the ball in for the goal.  Blair scored his second goal of the game in the 17th minute off an assist from sophomore Ryheim Hinds (Bridgeport, Connecticut).  Hinds won a head ball from forty yards out that went to Blair who beat two defenders for the finish. 

Freshman Yohan Kim (Seoul, South Korea) scored the fourth goal of the game on a penalty kick in the 22nd minute when he beat three defenders and then was taken down inside the penalty area.  Sophomore Mupenzi Irakiza (Syracuse, NY) scored in the 23rd minute off an assist from sophomore Luca Fahling (Domat, Switzerland).  Fahling served the ball to the back left post to Irikaza who finished first time with his head.  Sophomore Alex Charles (Christ Church, St.Kitts) scored in the 29th minute off an assist from Blair.  Charles took on two defenders inside the penalty area and took a shot on Red Barons goalkeeper Donavan Youmans who made the save.  Blair collected the rebound and played the ball to Charles for the finish.  Blair scored the seventh goal of the game in the 30th minute off an assist from Nakayama.  Nakayama served the ball from the left side of the penalty area to Blair who finished first time to the back post. 

Freshman Tim Placide (Ellenville, New York) scored his first goal of the season off an assist from sophomore Ryotaro Hayashi (Osaka, Japan).  Hayashi served the ball from the right side of the penalty area to Placide who headed the ball to the back post for the finish.  Freshman Mitchell Bourdeau (St. Albans, Vermont) finished off the scoring for the Generals in the 77th minute.  Placide served the ball from inside the penalty area from the right side and Corning’s defender cleared the ball to Bourdeau who gathered the ball and finished far post.

 Freshman goalkeeper Manabu Takahashi (Osaka, Japan) had three saves on the night in 90 minutes of play.  The #2 nationally ranked Generals travel to Hudson Valley CC to take on the Vikings  at 4:00pm.
