Generals Soccer moves to 14-0-0 with win over Jefferson

Herkimer, NY – The Herkimer men’s soccer team won their 14th game of the season defeating Jefferson CC 11-0 at home.  Eight different players scored.  Freshman Alex Charles (Christ Church, St. Kitts) opened up the scoring in the 20th minute off an assist from freshman Yohan Kim (Seoul, South Korea).  Sophomore Ryheim Hinds (Bridgeport, Connecticut) scored the next goal in the 21st minute off an assist from freshman Ikiel Collins-Brown (Highland Mills, NY).  Collins-Brown assisted on the next goal in the 26th minute feeding sophomore Shemar Blair (Brampton, Ontario, Canada).  Sophomore Jaahdel Cyril (Bridgeport, Connecticut) scored the fourth goal of the game in the 27th minute off an assist from Blair.  Hinds scored four minutes later in the 30th minute off an assist from sophomore Mupenzi Irakiza (Syracuse, NY).  Irakiza scored the next two goals in the 37th and 43rd minute.  His first goal was assisted by Blair and second by Charles.  Freshman Michel Harms (Oisterwijk, Netherlands) scored in the 62nd minute on a direct kick from 25 yards out.  Freshman Mitchell Bourdeau (St. Albans, Vermont) scored in the 66th minute off an assist from sophomore Ryotaro Hayashi (Osaka, Japan).  Sophomore Riley Urie (West Glover, Vermont) scored the final two goals of the game.  Urie’s first goal was in the 71st minute off an assist from Hayashi and his second was in the 84th minute off an assist from sophomore Tokiwa Yoshida (Hiroshima, Japan).

 

Sophomore goalkeeper Tinius Klausen (Oslo, Norway) recorded three saves in 45 minutes of play.  Freshman goalkeeper Manabu Takahashi (Osaka, Japan) recorded two saves in the seconds 45 minutes.  The Generals are currently ranked #2 in the most recent NJCAA national poll.  Herkimer now travels to Cayuga CC this Saturday to take on the Spartans at 3:00pm.
