Generals take down # 2 North Country

Herkimer, NY - In a matchup of nationally ranked teams, the #9 Herkimer Generals upset the second ranked North Country Saints by a score of 63-60 on Monday afternoon at the Herkimer Varsity Gym. The win lifts the Generals record to 11-2 overall and gives them sole possession of first place in the Mountain Valley Conference with a record of 4-0.

In a back and forth game that saw Herkimer lead by 6 at the end of the first quarter before trailing by 4 to enter the 4th, the Generals used a 20-13 4th quarter to get by the Saints and secure the win. Amber Been (Bronx, NY) paced the Herkimer attack with 16 points while Namir Davis (Utica, NY) and Junasia Lanier (Albany, NY) chipped in with 10 apiece.

The Generals and Saints wont have to wait long for the rematch, as they will get together again on Wednesday, January 22nd on North Country's home court in Saranac Lake, NY. Game time is scheduled for 4:00 PM.
