A message from the President
President Cathleen McColgin issues an update to the campus community about COVID-19.
Dear Campus Community,
As we continue to monitor this unprecedented COVID-19 event, our plans must continually be adjusted accordingly. As we have shared previously, the College is operating with critical staff only, and most of the campus is closed, including the Library. We have discontinued most on-campus services. Tutoring and other student support services will be available remotely. Further information will be forthcoming regarding WiFi access and other remote services.
We are dealing with a difficult scenario, including seven confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Herkimer County (currently). The College has a small number of students approved to continue living in on-campus housing due to extenuating circumstances. They will be required to observe Governor Cuomo’s stay at home mandate. Effective immediately, students without prior approval will not be allowed on campus.
Students who need to retrieve personal belongings from on-campus housing must make an appointment with the Housing Office at reslifehousing@herkimer.edu or 315-574-4016.
We wish the circumstances were different, but we must do what is necessary to ensure the health and safety of all.
Cathleen C. McColgin, Ph.D.
President
