President's Update to Faculty and Staff
President Cathleen McColgin outlines several updates in regards to the College's response to COVID-19.
I hope this update finds you well and settling into the “new normal.” Be assured, however, that there is nothing about your current efforts and performance that I consider “normal.” Quite the contrary, I consider the job all of you are doing to be nothing less than extraordinary, and I want you all to know how much I respect and appreciate your amazing spirit and energy. Faculty are hard at work transitioning courses to alternative modes of delivery and staff are adjusting to all that comes along with learning how to work remotely – while still maintaining the level of excellence our students have come to know. I am so very proud of the creativity and positive attitude that continues throughout our campus community during this challenging time.
Whether you are working remotely, or providing critical services on campus, each of you plays a crucial role in ensuring that our students are able to continue their studies and meet their academic goals, in spite of the considerable obstacles we all are facing. What I told our students recently applies equally to all of you: you make me incredibly proud to be President of Herkimer County Community College!
Below are a few items we would like to update you on:
- All campus building exterior doors are now locked. The RMCC main entrance will be open during hours that the dining center is open for students to pick up meals.
- Only students approved to be on campus and critical staff are allowed on campus. All other employees who need to come to campus for any reason must email Tim Rogers (rogerstd@herkimer.edu) for approval before coming to campus.
- Mail will be processed on Tuesday and Friday mornings. Please email requests for printing to copycenter@herkimer.edu.
- We have received confirmation that the Middle States Self Study team visit will be postponed to the fall.
Thank you for your continued patience and understanding, and for everything you are doing to support our students and each other.
With warm regards,
Cathleen
