Herkimer College names Garrison, Logan Green and Gold Athletes for the month of May

HERKIMER, NY—Herkimer College has announced its Green and Gold Athletes for the month of May.  They are women’s softball player Alexis Garrison (Clifton Park, NY) and men’s track and field athlete Hunter Logan (Fort Plain, NY).

Garrison led the Generals softball team to the Region IIIB Championship and a third place finish at this year’s NJCAA Division III Softball Championships. In the postseason, she hit .454 with a home run, three doubles, and six RBI’s. She was named to the 2021 National Championship All-Tourney Team and was named a Green and Gold Athlete of the Month in March for her accomplishments in bowling.

“Alexis is the epitome of what we think a Herkimer General should stand for,” said head softball coach PJ Anadio. “She works every day to be the best leader, friend, teammate, and ambassador for the sport of softball she can be.”

Logan won this year’s NJCAA Division III National Championship for both the shot put (15.47 m) and the discus (38.42 m), and he finished second in the hammer throw with a distance of 34.58 m.

“I was very proud to have Hunter wearing a Generals jersey and representing us in the throwing circles and as an athlete at the national meet,” said head track and field coach Charles Maxson. “He truly represents the kind of athlete that makes Herkimer a special place.”
