Bourdeau, Somow Lead Generals to Region 3, Pool B Championship

Herkimer NY-  The Herkimer Generals men's soccer team hosted Niagara CC Thunder Wolves in the Region 3 Pool B Quarterfinals Wednesday 10/27. The Game stayed knotted through the first 23 minutes when sophomore Ikiel Collins- Brown (Monroe, NY) assisted Mitchell Bourdeau(Swanton, Vermont) to put the Generals up 1-0. The Generals unleashed 2 more straight goals in a 3 minute span to put them up 3-0 going into the half. The scoring came from, Ali Somow(Utica, NY) assisted by Kyle Middleton(Dundee, Scotland) and Bourdeau pounded in his 2nd of the game from Somow. 

Niagara chipped in a second half goal to cut the lead to 3-1 and Herkimer’s Kyle Middleton answered back with a goal of his own to put the game out of reach. Middleton’s goal was assisted by Somow once again.

The Generals defense kept the Thunder Wolves at bay only allowing 4 shots on goal and Goal Keeper Manubu Takahashi (Osaka, Japan) had 3 saves on the day. The Generals are back in action Sunday (10/31) when they take on the Mohawk Valley Hawks for the Region 3 Pool B Championship at Genesee CC at 1:30.
