Herkimer Softball Collects Post-Season Awards
Herkimer NY- After another successful Herkimer Softball season where the Generals went to there 10th straight World Series and finished the season 5th in the nation, the Generals have received multiple post season awards. Six Generals were named to the All Region team and five Generals were named to the Mountain Valley Conference Team. In addition Freshman Pitcher Elora Wilmot was name Conference Player of the Year.
Head Coach PJ Anadio said, "it's always exciting when we find out that the fruits of our labor have been recognized with postseason honors. While we pride ourselves on development, it really comes down to the student athlete buying in and doing the legwork. They have poured in to the program and making necessary changes to become the very best version of themselves and it's exciting to see their hard work pays off. I couldn't be more proud of them." All certain individual names were chosen, make no doubt that this is a collective group effort of a team of young ladies pushing each other down and day out to reach their ultimate goals. Anadio went on to say "Elora is the shining example... She came in, had a tough fall against some incredible competition and simply went to work. She loves the game, she loves to grind and she made all the necessary changes to put herself in the conversation to not only get on the field, but they have success doing it. For that to pay off with a mountain valley conference player of the year is nothing short of remarkable. Well earned and well deserved!"
