Herkimer College Hosts Harriet Tells It Like It Is During Women’s Herstory Month
Herkimer College will host Harriet Tells It Like It Is at 1:30 p.m. Monday, March 6, in the Robert McLaughlin College Center, Room 288. The event is held during Women’s ‘Herstory’ Month and is free and open to the public.
Travel back in time and journey north on the Underground Railroad, with Harriet Tubman in this special adaptation. Harriet shares her story of bravery, resilience, and triumph as she fights for her freedom and the freedom of countless other African American slaves. Harriet’s account comes to life with live accompaniment from a professional African drummer. This narrative truly demonstrates the power of one individual to affect and inspire the lives of many.
This traveling community theatre production is by Karen Jones Meadows, directed by Margaret E. Hall with associate director/dramaturg Susan Spain. Harriet Tubman is played by Lauren E. Banks.
