Herkimer College Seeks Entries for Upcoming Exhibition, NOCTURNE
Herkimer College’s Cogar Gallery will present NOCTURNE Monday, September 30 through Thursday, October 31. The exhibit will showcase artwork that encompasses the artists’ interpretation of themes and elements of the night and darkness.
Content of the artwork submitted to NOCTURNE may include depictions of the theme in a physical or psychological sense, and beyond. Artists are encouraged to contemplate nocturnal themes and conjure up inspiration for their work as we enter this transitional and transformational time of year, shifting from summer into autumn.
Submissions are open to anyone 18 or older residing within 100 miles of the Herkimer College campus. Artists are invited to enter one to two original pieces that include pottery, video, 2D and 3D arts, and photography. 2D entries must be prepared to hang, and video must include its own interface for display. No Artificial Intelligence (AI) artwork will be accepted for this exhibit.
Submitted artwork must be dropped off in person at the Cogar Gallery Friday, September 27 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. or Saturday, September 28 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Artists will have the option to list their work for sale if desired.
NOCTURNE and the artists will be celebrated with a fun and special closing reception on the eve of Halloween, Wednesday October 30 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. In the spirit of the season, reception attendees are encouraged to wear costumes, though it is not required.
