The Herkimer College Board of Trustees will host four final presidential candidates for campus visits on May 1, 2, 5, and 7.

Open forums for the community will be held from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. in the Robert McLaughlin College Center, room 288, and virtually via Microsoft Teams. Links for each forum will be available by Wednesday, April 30, at www.herkimer.edu/finalists.

The finalists were recommended by a presidential search committee consisting of campus, community, and SUNY representatives, following a first round of confidential interviews. They are as follows:

  • Thursday, May 1: Albert Lewis Jr., Ed.D., Chief of Staff/Executive Vice President, Northwest State Community College, Archbold, Ohio
  • Friday, May 2: Jonathan Ashdown, Ph.D., Executive Dean, Hudson Valley Community College, Troy, NY
  • Monday, May 5: Terri Day, Ph.D., Vice President for Academic Affairs/Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs, Volunteer State Community College, Gallatin, TN
  • Wednesday, May 7: Anthony J. Trump, Ed.D., Vice President of Student Affairs, Bergen Community College, Paramus, N.J.

Resumes for each of the candidates are available at www.herkimer.edu/finalists.

In addition to the open forums with the community, candidates will tour the campus, meet with multiple stakeholder groups, and interview with the Board of Trustees. All who interact with the final candidates during their campus visits will have the opportunity to complete an anonymous survey regarding their observations of strengths and areas of potential growth.

Following campus visits, the Board will select three candidates to forward to the SUNY Chancellor on May 12. The final successful candidate will then be selected and forwarded to the SUNY Board of Trustees at a special board meeting on May 21.

Information about the search process, including the position profile and list of committee members, is on the college website at: www.herkimer.edu/presidential-search.
