Guards lead the way against Jefferson

HERKIMER, NY – With no players in double figures against Jefferson Community College on Saturday (11/9), the Lady Generals were unable to gather consecutive wins after beating Genesee in their last game, losing 64-47 in the varsity gym.
Herkimer (1-2) never led against the Cannoneers in the game, but had different contributors in each half. Sophomore guard Shahadah Williams (Syracuse, NY) had six points, all coming from in the paint, while guard Shi Williams gathered four, all from outside the paint area, in the first half. Shahadah finished with six points in the game. Shi finished with seven points.
In the second half, freshman Emily Rexford (Canton, NY) scored eight points, thanks to two 3-point field goals which helped her lead the Generals in points, finishing with nine. Alyssa Craig (Fonda, NY) also played well, scoring six of her total eight points in the second half. Their third leading scorer in the half was Samantha Randio (Ravena, NY). Randio scored five points in the second half, totaling eight points in the game.
The Lady Generals also got contributions from sophomore center Kaylyn Dickerson (Douglasville, GA) and freshman guard Korey Bunal (Rome, NY). Dickerson finished with five points in the game and Bunal finished with four.
Herkimer's next game is against Mohawk Valley Community College. The team will travel to play the Hawks Wednesday, November 13th. Start time is scheduled for 6 p.m.
