BINGHAMTON, NY – After two consecutive wins at home against Mid-State Athletic Conference opponents, the Herkimer Generals women’s basketball team was unable to get a third on the road against Broome Community College on Saturday (12/6), losing to the Hornets 75-43.

Herkimer (3-4, 1-2) was unable to stop sophomore Caity Kuhnen who scored a game-high 28 points, helping Broome to a 12 point lead at intermission (36-24).

Strong second half performances by Kristy Wallace (Frankfort, NY), Shahadah Williams (Syracuse, NY), I’Asia O’Garro (Copiague, NY) and Alexandra Hardy (Kerhonkson, NY) helped, but didn’t disrupt the Hornets offense, coming away with the 32-point victory.

O’Garro and Williams were the only Generals to score in double figures, accounting for 14 and 10 respectively.

Herkimer gets right back at it Sunday (12/7), traveling to Tompkins-Cortland Community College. The Panthers are 3-5, losing their last game to Mohawk Valley. The Generals will look to be the second Mountain Valley Conference team to defeat the Panthers with tip off scheduled for 12 p.m.
