Aguedelo hat trick gets Thunderducks third place

HERKIMER, NY – Scoring three goals in the second half and four total in the game, the #2 Richland Thunderducks defeated #4 Camden County 4-0 in regulation on Sunday (11/15) to receive third place in the NJCAA DIII National Championship Tournament.
Richland (15-4-1, 2-0) got another solid performance from Santiago Aguedelo, accumulating his third hat trick of the season on three shots in 90 minutes of play. Aguedelo scored the first goal of the game in the 40th minute when teammate Daniel Navarez found him on the left side of the net - scoring right - past Camden’s goalie Anthony Cutillo, going into halftime 1-0.
Making it a two goal advantage was Oscar Ocampo in the 72nd. Ocampo was led well by Aguedelo, scoring in the top-right of the net for his ninth goal of the season.
Richland opened the game with two more goals after that, both by Aguedelo in the 73rd and 81st, pushing it to 4-0. Assisting on the first goal was Ocampo, the second was unassisted.
In goal was the Thunderducks was Hugo Ruiz. The sophomore had one save in the game for his fifth shutout of the season.
