#3 Men’s Soccer Earns 15th Win over Jefferson
Last Wednesday (10/12) the #3 Herkimer Generals Men’s Soccer team traveled to Jefferson Community College. It was this game that tacked up the Generals’ 15th win of the season as they overtook the Cannoneers 6-1. Herkimer remained in control of momentum throughout the entire game. The first two goals for Herkimer came from #24 Luke Murphy (Glasgow, Scotland); assisted by #8 Jordan Saling. The second assisted by #17 Ferguson Ward (London, England). The third and final goal in the first half was produced by Ward from a feed by #13 Camilo Avendano (Cape Coral, FL).
The score remained 3-0 for most of the remainder of the game until the 75th minute when both teams started to find the back of the net again. Herkimer’s #8 Saling was awarded a penalty kick which he finished which brought the score up to 4-0. But shortly there after Jefferson refused the shutout as freshman #20 Hunter Birchenough scored their one and only goal unassisted just two minutes later. The Generals had no issue answering back as they scored two more goals that half. The first by #34 Selmir Muskic (Utica, NY) assisted by #26 Meysar Abdulkadir (Hartford, CT). The final goal was scored with just seconds left in the game by #3 Chris Cornwill (Sunshine Coast, Queensland) assisted by #23 Gianni Cognata (Cape Coral, FL).
