Women's Basketball Bounces Back in Win over SUNY Broome

Binghamton, NY-- The Herkimer Generals women’s basketball team traveled to Binghamton, NY where they faced off against the Hornets of SUNY Broome.  The Generals were eager for the opportunity to bounce back after just coming off of their loss to Jefferson.  The Generals did just that starting off strong in the first quarter leading 20-9 after the first ten minutes.  Continuing their reign they won the second quarter scoring 18 points over Broome’s 15 leaving the score 38-24 at the half. 

Herkimer Generals key players of the night were freshman shooting guard #2 Sierra Henry (Newfield, NY) with 16 points and 7 rebounds.  Also sophomore forward #10 Emerald Pett (Utica, NY) who was one rebound away from a double-double. Pett scored 14 points and grabbed 9 rebounds.  The top scorer for the Generals was freshman point guard #24 Jazmin Diggs (Poughkeepsie, NY) who earned an impressive 27 points.  Diggs currently holds the top of the Mountain Valley Conference leaderboard for field goals.

The Generals finished the game on top with a final score of 74-64.  They now set their sights on SUNY Adirondack who will visit Herkimer Wednesday December 7th for a 5PM tip off.
