Generals Defeat Soaring Eagles in Overtime

Herkimer, NY--  The Herkimer Generals JV Men's Basketball team earned their first win in overtime over the Elmira Soaring Eagles JV basketball team.  Both teams traded ownership of the lead throughout the entire game.  Momentum was constantly moving from one team to the other as both offenses created opportunities for thundering dunks and swishing three-pointers.  A big presence on the court for Herkimer was local product, freshman forward Malik Briggs (Herkimer, NY) (shown in picture) who hammered in a dunk after earning a valuable offensive rebound.  Another inspiring presence for the Generals was point guard #12 Tyler Damas (Wyandanch, NY) who scored back to back to back three pointers down the stretch to keep Herkimer in in until the end.  He was a leader who wanted the ball when it mattered most.  The Generals held their heart and passion throughout the game, especially the end when they tied it up 81-81.  Herkimer came into overtime with more intensity and grit earning their first win in that last five minutes over the Soaring Eagles 96-88.
