Herkimer Men's Soccer wins Conference Opener

Herkimer, NY - Senior Chris Capaldo (Smithtown, NY) and Freshman Riley Urie (West Glover, VT) scored three goals apiece as the Herkimer Generals Men's Soccer team opened Mountain Valley Conference play with a 12-0 over SUNY Adirondack at Wehrum Stadium on Wednesday. With the win, the Generals, ranked # 3 in the latest NJCAA Division III Men's Soccer Poll, move to 4-0 on the season.

Tarik Moussaoui (Oslo, Norway) added two goals in the big win and Sena Shintate (Kyoto, Japan), Ryotaro Hayashi (Osaka, Japan), Kervens Jean-Charles (Norwalk, CT), and Kimani Clarke (East Hampton, NY) each added one goal each. Stian Klausen (Oslo, Norway) and Julio Gomes (Bedview South Africa) each spent time in goal as Herkimer notched their 4th straight shutout to start the season. 

The Generals will hit the road for the first time in 2018 as they travel to Johnstown, NY on Saturday, Sept 8 to take on Fulton Montgomery Community College. Game time is scheduled for 1:00 PM.
