Herkimer Women's Swimming wins Most Improved Team award at Region III Championships

Rochester, NY - It was a great weekend for the Herkimer Women's Swimming and Diving team at the 2019 Region III/Northeast District Championships held at Monroe Community College. Coach Vicki Brown's squad earned the Most Improved Team Award for Region III based on their accomplishments in the pool over the weekend

The highlights included:

 

Amanda Mascia was named to the 2019 Region III Women’s Swimming & Diving First All-Region Team for the 50 FR, 100 FR and 200 FR.

Hong Dang was named to the 2019 Region III Women’s Swimming & Diving Second All-Region Team for the 100 BR

 

 

Chereima Johnson

-          finished 11th in the 50 FR (top 12 score)

-          swam a best time during prelims of the 100 FR

-          finished 10th in the 100 FR

 

Abigail Janczuk

-          swam a best time during prelims of the 50 FR

-          finished 9th in the 50 FR with another best time

-          swam a best time during prelims of the 100 BA

-          finished 5th in the 100 BA with another best time

-          swam a best time during prelims of the 100 FR

-          finished 8th in the 100 FR with another best time

 

Hong Dang

-          finished 4th in the 200 IM

-          swam a best time during prelims of the 100 BR

-          finished 3rd in the 100 BR

-          swam a best time during prelims of the 200 BR

-          finished 5th in the 200 BR

 

Amanda Mascia

-          Region 3/Northeast District Champion in the Women’s 50 FR with a season best time

-          swam a season best time during prelims of the 200 FR

-          Region 3/Northeast District Champion in the Women’s 200 FR with a season best time

-          Region 3/Northeast District Champion in the Women’s 100 FR

-          Awarded 2019 Region 3 Most Valuable Player: Women’s Swimming

 

The Generals will now prepare for the 2019 NJCAA National Championships, to be held at Erie Community College in Buffalo, NY on March 6-9.
