Herkimer Generals soccer earns No. 3 seed as they host the 2020- 2021 NJCAA Division III Men’s Soccer National Championships

HERKIMER, NY—Herkimer College will be the host site for the 2020-2021 NJCAA Division III Men’s Soccer National Championships.

The Generals topped Mohawk Valley 2-1 in the Region III Championship Game on May 21 at Wehrum Stadium to improve their record to 5-1-1 on the season and punch their ticket to the National Tournament. The team secured the No. 3 seed and will play in the national quarterfinals against the No. 6 seeded Monroe College – Bronx (NY) Express. It will be the twenty-second trip to Nationals for Coach Pepe Aragon since he took over the program in 1998.

The field of eight teams was set last week during District Championship Play. The seeding and quarterfinals schedule is as follows:

  • 11 a.m.: 8 Sussex CC (NJ) vs. No. 1 Dallas-Richland (TX)
  • 1:30 p.m.: No. 5 Mohawk Valley (NY) vs. No. 4 Harper College (IL)
  • 4 p.m.: 7 Rock Valley (IL) vs. No. 2 Camden CC (NJ)
  • 6:30 p.m.: 6 Monroe College-Bronx (NY) vs. No. 3 Herkimer College (NY)

The National Semifinals will be played Thursday, June 4, and the National Championship Game will be played on Saturday, June 5 at 1 p.m. Admission to the 2020-2021 NJCAA Division III Championships is $5 per day. Children under 12 are free.
