Generals Lose to #8 Ranked Lazers
Herkimer NY- The Herkimer Generals women’s basketball team hosted #8 nationally ranked Onondaga CC Lazers Saturday. The Lazers jumped on the General In the first half 37-29 but the Generals cut the lead within 6 in the 3rd quarter. The Lazers finished with a strong 4th quarter winning the game 76-56. The Generals shot 28% from the field, only hitting 2 of their 31 three point baskets on the night.
The Generals were led by freshman forwards Nazjae Howard (Syracuse, NY) and Jenna Faulkner (Otego, NY). Howard had 15 points, 18 rebounds and a steal. Faulkner had 20 points, 10 rebounds and 5 blocks. Kapri Bradshaw(Uniondale) added 11 points for the Generals with 7 rebounds and 3 assists for the Generals.
Head Coach Matt Hazzard noted “Today obviously wasn’t our day offensively and we got in foul trouble early. Our defense was once again rock solid and that’s all you can ask for. Some days you have it and some days you don’t. Jenna and Nazjae played great and continue to perform as All-Region players for us”.
The Generals are back in action when they host Bryant and Stratton Wednesday (12/8) at 6 PM.
