The Herkimer Generals hosted Bryant and Stratton Wednesday night (12/8). Bryant and Stratton held a 31-29 advantage over Herkimer at the half however, the Generals were able to fight back and tie the game up at 65 in the waning seconds. With 3 seconds left, Kapri Bradshaw (Uniondale, NY) kicked the ball out to shooting guard Monica Hartleib (Canajoharie, NY) and she hit the game winning three pointer as time expired.

The Generals were led by freshman forward Jenna Faulkner (Otego, NY) who nearly had a triple double on the night. Faulkner scored 24 points, had 14 rebounds, 8 blocks and 3 steals. Kapri Bradshaw had 13 points on the night with 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals and 4 blocks. Taya Yacobucci added 10 points and 2 rebounds.

Head Coach Matt Hazzard noted “it was an amazing team effort led by Jenna’s gutsy outing on a bad ankle. We lacked energy to start but we mixed a few things up and it worked for us.” Hazzard went on to say “To beat a four year school and to have a bounce back win, it was a big night. We held them scoreless the last 3 minutes of the game and to watch Monica drill the shot at the buzzer for the win, it was truly special.”

The Generals are back in action Sunday when they host Jamestown CC Jayhawks at 10:30 AM.
