Herkimer Men’s Basketball Head Coach Matt Lee Wins 500th Career Game

Herkimer College Men’s Basketball head coach Matt Lee won his 500th career game last
Friday, November 22nd in a 93-63 victory defeating Clinton Community College.

Lee, in his 22nd season at the helm of the Generals, has an overall record of 500-139, a win percentage of .782. Lee is one of only four active NJCAA Division III head coaches to reach 500 career wins, and one of two active head coaches in Region III to achieve the milestone (Jerry Burns, Monroe CC).

The Generals went on a 14-0 run after trailing 7-2 in the opening minutes of the game. Herkimer never looked back, never giving up the lead, leading by as many as 12 before settling into halftime with a 10-point lead.

Herkimer carried its momentum from the first half opening the second half on a 24-7 run, leading by as many as 31points.

Sophomore Tajuan Thomas (Atlanta, GA) scored 17 of his game-high 20 points in the second half while adding six
rebounds. Freshman Kenny Freeman (Rochester, NY) registered his first career double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Sophomore Oladele Oladitan (Staten Island, NY) with 13 points, nine rebounds, five assists, two steals and two blocks.

The Generals will enjoy a few weeks off before a home back-to-back on December 7th & 8th vs. Tompkins-Cortland Community College and SUNY Broome.
