Herkimer College announces 2024 Torchbearer Award recipients
The Herkimer County Community College Board of Trustees recently selected four individuals to receive the 2024 Torchbearer Award. The prestigious honor is presented to individuals who have made substantial contributions to the College’s development and success. The Torchbearer Awards have been presented every five years since 1999.

Herkimer College Announces Science Fair WinnersHerkimer College hosted the Herkimer County Jr./Sr. High School Science Fair, sponsored by ICON, on Saturday, February 6 in the Gaynor Science Center. Herkimer County junior and senior high school students and home schooled students were invited to participate, as well as students from Little Falls Middle School, Mohawk Valley Christian Academy, Mount Markham Central School District, and West Canada Valley Central School.
Projects were judged by ICON scientists and Herkimer College faculty. Cash prizes totaling $1,000 were awarded.
Winners are eligible to move on to the Utica College Regional Science Fair in Utica, NY on April 2. The winners of the Herkimer County are as follows: -
“HCTV News” returns with two live shows per week, plus streamingThe award winning student produced “HCTV News” returns with two live newscasts per week this semester, with a 15 minute newscast Tuesdays at 1:00pm and a full half hour newscast Thursdays at 5:00pm. Newscasts will also be archived on the Communication Arts YouTube channel.
