Herkimer Women's Soccer opens season in impressive fashion

Herkimer, NY - The Herkimer Generals, ranked # 2 in the NJCAA National Division III Women's Soccer Preseason Poll, opened their 2018 campaign with an impressive 6-0 win over Nassau County Community College on Saturday morning at Wehrum Stadium in the 2018 Coliseum Kickoff Classic. Herkimer opened up a 4-0 lead in the first half and cruised to the easy win.

Sarah George (Dolgeville, NY) paced the Generals attack with 3 goals on the day. Ashley Capron (Burnt Hills, NY) added 2 goals and 2 assists and Kristen Purcell (Sauquoit, NY) tallied her first collegiate goal in the first half and added an assist in the win. Haley Harrington (Munnsville, NY), Alexis Romeyn (St . Johnsville, NY) and Myra Adams (Hermon, NY) each added an assist in the game as well. 

The Generals, coming off an appearance in the 2017 NJCAA Division III National Championship Game, will host Ocean County College (NJ) on Sunday in Day 2 of the 2018 Coliseum Kickoff Classic. Game time is set for 12:15 PM.
