Herkimer College women’s soccer secures At-Large bid to NJCAA Division III National Championships

HERKIMER, NY—The Herkimer Generals women’s soccer team has earned an At-Large bid for the 2020-2021 NJCAA Division III National Championships.

The Generals were awarded the fifth seed and will play in the second national quarterfinal on June 2, taking on the No. 4 seed from Rowan-Gloucester College (NJ) at 1:30 p.m. The Generals have a record of 3-3 in the spring season and finished as the Region III Runner-Up.

This will be the fourth straight year that the Generals have reached the national tournament under Coach Jason Palkovic. In 2017, they lost in the national title game in overtime before going 1-1 and finishing fifth at the 2018 and 2019 championships.

The four national quarterfinal matchups on June 2 are as follows:

  • Game 1: 1 Brookhaven (TX) vs. No. 8 Suffolk CC (NJ) – 11 a.m.
  • Game 2: No. 4 Rowan-Gloucester (NJ) vs. No. 5 Herkimer (NY) – 1:30 p.m.
  • Game 3: No. 2 Delta (MI) vs. No. 7 Elgin (IL) – 4 p.m.
  • Game 4: No. 3 Mohawk Valley (NY) vs. No. 6 Union (NJ) – 6:30 p.m.

The national semifinals will be played on June 3, and the national championship game will be played on June 5 at 1 p.m. All games will be streamed live at njcaatv.com.
