Generals Win Big Over SUNY Adirondack

Herkimer NY- The Herkimer Generals women basketball team hosted conference and regional foe SUNY Adirondack Wednesday. The Generals defense swarmed all night giving up 26 points on the night and never gave up more than 8 points in a quarter en-route to a 77-26 win. 

The Generals were once again led by Sophomore Kapri Bradshaw (Uniondale, NY). Bradshaw had 28 points on the night with 8 steals, 5 assists and 2 rebounds. Freshman guards Ajla Sedjic (Utica, NY) and Taylor Smith (Herkimer, NY) both added double digit points on the night. Sedjic scored 12 points with 4 assists and 4 rebounds while Smith had 10 points and a steal. Smith went 100% from the field on her 4 shots.

Freshman forwards Nazjae Howard (Syracuse, NY) and Jenna Faulkner (Otego, NY) continued their dominance for the Generals. Howard finished the night with 7 points, 11 rebounds and 3 steals. Faulkner had 6 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 blocks.

Head Coach Matt Hazzard noted “We have been putting a stronger emphasis on the defensive end and it really showed in tonight’s team effort. Everyone has understands their roles and has bought into the program which our coaches are ecstatic about. Kapri continues to blossom as a leader and has put the team on her back. It’s really exciting to watch.”

The Generals are back in action Saturday when they host Onondaga CC Lazers at 3 P.M.
