Herkimer College appoints new Academic Support Center specialist
Herkimer County Community College has hired Jeremy Pietruch, of Marcy, New York, as a math specialist in the Academic Support Center (ASC).
Pietruch earned two bachelor’s degrees from SUNY Oswego in mathematics and secondary education: mathematics before going on to earn a master’s degree in accountancy from SUNY Polytechnic Institute in December 2019.
Pietruch was already a familiar face around campus, having previously worked in the ASC as a part-time math tutor. He also has experience working in the Utica City School District as a homebound instructor, providing one-on-one tutoring to students, and as a substitute teacher at the middle and high school levels.
As a full-time specialist in the ASC, Pietruch will provide subject-specific tutorial assistance infused with best-practice study strategies instruction, utilizing a range of available learning resources and through a variety of service-delivery modes. In this role, he will report to ASC Director Marjorie Moore.
