The Women’s Soccer Team visited Jamestown on Saturday in what would eventually be an offensive slugfest . The Generals would find themselves in a hole early on as the hosts would go up 1-0 in the 21st minute. Herkimer answered shortly after in the 24th minute with a Hailey Couchman (Baldwinsville, NY) goal to even the score. The tie didn’t last long as Jamestown would answer back five minutes later for a 2-1 lead. The tandem of Blumenstock (Poland, NY) and George (Dolgeville, NY) would level it back at 2-2 ten minutes after. Jamestown answered right back in what would be the last lead of the game for them. The Generals would strike twice in the final three minutes of the first half to gain a 4-3 advantage.  Jenna Rogers (Port Leyden, NY) scored off an early ball from Blumenstock.  Blumenstock would follow up with the 4th goal of the half.

After halftime Jamestown found an equalizer shortly after kickoff for a 4-4 score line. Once again the tandem of Blumenstock and George would strike as George would setup Blumenstock for the next two Herkimer goals for a 6-4 lead. Jamestown would make it interesting with a late goal but this time the Generals were able to hold on for the win. They are now 4-0 and will travel next to Adirondack on Wednesday to go for their fifth straight win.
