Alexandra DeBeatham named Region III Female Athlete of the Week

HERKIMER, NY—Herkimer College women’s basketball player Alexandra DeBeatham was named Region III Female Athlete of the Week for week of January 27-February 2, 2020.

DeBeatham, a sophomore from Menands, NY, leads the Generals with 13.6 points per game and is shooting 35 percent from 3-Point range, including 60 percent in the last three contests. She also leads Herkimer in free throw percentage, shooting 72 percent on the year.

“Lexi has been the rock of our program the last two seasons,” said Coach Gabe Coffey. “She is a prolific shooter, and she also defends and provides us with leadership on the court, which has helped us been successful all season.”

Herkimer is currently ranked No. 9 in the latest NJCAA Division III National Poll and has a record of 16-4 on the season. The Generals are also in a first-place tie in the Mountain Valley Conference with an 8-1 mark.
