Traut, Magnusson Lead Generals in 5-0 Shutout

Herkimer NY- Thursday afternoon, The Herkimer Generals hosted Onondaga CC Lazers for a regional matchup. Freshman midfielders Hailey Traut (Frankfort, NY) and Mackenzie Magnusson (Vernon, NY) led the way from early in the first half. Traut got the scoring going in the first 10 minutes pounding in the first goal of the game, she was assisted by Magnusson. The Generals Led the Lazers 1-0 through the half.

Traut added two more goals in the second half, to complete the hat trick on the day. Traut was again assisted by Magusson for her second assist on the day and was assisted later on by freshman defender Dylan Lawson (Birmingham, AL), giving Lawson her first assist on the season. Magnusson scored two second half goals for the Generals, both assists coming from Traut. Traut's 17 assist's leads the nation and the region respectfully.

Kurstin Gay and Isabella Smith post the shutout for the Generals, who blanked the Lazer's 8 shots on goal.

The Generals improve to 8-3 with the final game of the season set for Sunday 10/17, when they host MVCC Hawks for a 1 o'clock start.
