Generals Go 1-1 on the Weekend

Troy NY-The Herkimer Generals Women's basketball team traveled to Hudson Valley CC on Friday for a conference and regionals matchup. The Generals went down 30-28 in the first half but came roaring back with 37 points in the second half to pull away from HVCC 65-55 at the end of regulation. 

The Generals were led by Dinah Harris(Niagara Falls, NY) and Jenna Faulkner(Otego, NY) who both turned in double-doubles. Harris had 17 points, 14 rebounds, 2 steals and an assist. Faulkner had 10 points, 11 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 blocks. Kapri Bradshaw led all Generals with 19 points while pulling down 4 rebounds and 4 assists. 

Saranac Lake, NY- On Sunday the North Country CC Saints jumped on the right away scoring 27 in the first quarter to cruise to a 86-69 win over the Generals. The Generals were led by Kapri Bradshaw who had 22 points 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Jenna Faulkner went for 15 points,19 rebounds and 6 blocks. Ajla Sedjic(Utica, NY) chipped in 17 points, going 3-7 from behind the arc. 

Head Coach Matt Hazzard noted, "North Country came out on fire shooting 41 percent from the three point line. We fought hard, cutting a 25 point lead to 7 within 4 minutes remaining. Our coaching staff is proud of the effort and desire we showed. This weekend will certainly make us better heading into the regional tournament".

The Generals are back in action Wednesday (2/2) when they travel to Fulton Montgomery CC to take on the Raiders, who are 6-2 on the season.
